Following the installation of the new water main, there will be a period of time during which the main will be chlorinated and tested before being put into service.
Activity on the job site will be limited during this phase.
Once testing has been completed, Aqua will transfer each water service and any fire hydrants onto the new main, then make the final connections on the side streets and abandon the old main.
It is important to note that the trench will be covered with temporary black top at the end of each work day.
Permanent restoration will be complete in the spring.
