Chester Valley Trail Extension Underway!
Construction on the 7 mile segment is ongoing as photos show.
The 7 plus mile extension of the Chester Valley Trail thru Tredyffrin began this spring, although construction to date is less than hoped for. The County states that 7% of the work is completed. Initial debris and brush clearing have been done from Cedar Hollow Road east and near Valley Forge and West Valley Roads. Attached photos show initial work looking west at West Valley Road. The trailhead (parking lot) off of Warner Road and a portion of the trail going east have been started as the photo shows. Contractors are now working on a section along Devon Park Drive, photo attached. It is anticipated that intial bridge foundation work at North Valley Road should begin shortly. Photo at this location shows adjacent Rt. 202 work going on currently. While moving more slowly then hoped, it is great to see this trail beginning to take shape and complete a major link in our regional network.
Elsewhere on the trail, the Exton Park Trailhead (parking and restroom facilities) at the current west end of the trail are now complete and open!!
