'Butterfly Run' To Honor Great Valley HS Girl Killed By Drunk Driver
Elizabeth Ciunci had her life tragically cut short by a drunk driver heading the wrong direction on I-76. Her spirit, however, lives on.

MALVERN, PA -- A 5k run/walk to benefit the the Elizabeth Ciunci Foundation will be held on March 26 at 9:00 a.m. at Great Valley High School.
On November 26, 1999, at the age of only eighteen, a drunk-driver heading in the wrong direction on the Schuylkill Expressway tragically ended Elizabeth's life.
Although the family suffered a great loss, we knew that Elizabeth's incredible spirit could be carried on in countless ways.

The creation of the Butterfly Run and memorial scholarship were just some of these ways.
The purpose of the Butterfly Run is to bring awareness to the community: to save a life, to affect groups of teenagers to do the "smart thing," and to facilitate Elizabeth's memorial scholarship.

Elizabeth enjoyed working with children who had special needs and even planned on furthering her education in this field. It was decided that the scholarship, in honor of Elizabeth, would be given to high school seniors who wish to pursue these same goals.
Over $35,000 has been given in college scholarships to young students who exhibit qualities similar to Elizabeth's.
Race Day registration starts at 7:30 am; 5K Run/Walk starts at 9:00 am.
The course starts at Great Valley HS, winds along residential roads & finishes back at the high school.
5k Awards: 1st place overall Male & Female - $200; 2nd place overall Male & Female - $100; 3rd place overall Male & Female - $50; top 2 Male & Female in each age group: 12 & Under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over. Cost: $25 pre-registered, $30 race day.
