Chester County Names New Director of Veterans Affairs
The county department helps veterans and their families obtain benefits.

A Phoenixville man has been named Chester County’s new director of Veterans Affairs, the county commissioners announced this week.
Lawrence Davidson served in the U.S. Army for five years. He previously was the Veteran Center Coordinator at West Chester University Veterans Center.
“Chester County veterans will have an excellent advocate in Lawrence Davidson,” said Chester County Commissioners’ Chair Ryan Costello. “The commissioners are looking forward to working with him and providing deserved services to our veterans.”

Davidson also was the co-creator and graduate director of West Chester University’s Soldiers to Scholars program, where he worked until May 2013, the county said.
“I am working to understand the challenges facing veterans and I’m proud to be in a position to serve the Veterans of Chester County as well as their families,” Davidson said.

The Chester County Department of Veterans Affairs “assists veterans, their spouses and dependents in obtaining benefits, programs and entitlements, including the County’s Veterans Court program and Veterans ID business discount program”, the county said.
