The proposed trail will also provide a direct connection to Ecology Park. A multimodal trail connection along Moores Road, Sidley Road and Mill Lane from Ashlawn Road to the Chester Valley Trail is also part of the design.
"This grant will enable people who live and work in East Whiteland Township to take full advantage of the recreational benefits of the Chester Valley Trail," Howard said. "The trail will foster community by bringing East Whiteland Township’s different areas together."
The $250,000 grant was awarded Tuesday by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania's economic growth.
