"This is an example of stopping a shooting before it happens."

An East Whiteland man who lied to authorities in an attempt to get a firearm has been convicted, according to Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan.
The man never told authorities the fact that he had previously been committed to an institution after an incident where he was experiencing “homicidal ideations,” the DA said.
“(This is) an example of stopping a shooting before it happens,” Hogan said.
