Family of Fallen Marine: Thank You, Malvern

The family of deceased Marine Captain Brian T. Kennedy wrote a heartfelt letter to the Malvern area.

Submitted to Patch by Paige, Bill, Linda and Caitlin Kennedy

The family of Capt Brian T. Kennedy wishes to thank the borough of Malvern and surrounding communities for the outpouring of sympathy, prayers and support we have received since Brian’s death in a tragic Marine helicopter accident on January 14th, along with 11 other souls. In particular, we would like to express our gratitude for the support provided to Brian’s funeral services on April 22nd and 23rd. The direction of traffic and parking by police was greatly appreciated, as well as the escort of the funeral procession. We were especially touched by the displays of patriotism and acknowledgement of Brian’s service along the route from the church to the cemetery. The number of people lining the streets, the men, women and children standing in the rain holding flags, the huge flags hoisted on fire truck cranes—it was just overwhelming. The fact that Brian was honored in such a way, and, by extension, the service and sacrifice of all military personnel, brought us great deal of comfort.
