Free Mental Health First Aid Class In Malvern

Mental Health First Aiders teaches average citizens to help adults suffering from mental health issues or crises.

MALVERN, PA — First aid and CPR are great skills to know and can help save lives i medical emergencies. But Malvern officials are offering training to help the public handle mental health emergencies.

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, Malvern Borough Police will host an Adult Mental Health First Aid training at the Malvern Borough Hall.

The free course will teach attendees to identify risk factors and warning signs of mental health distress.

They will also practice a Mental Health First Aid action plan and learn about local mental health and substance abuse resources during the course.

Attendees will earn a three-year Mental Health First Aid certification and get a manual on Mental Health First Aid.

Participants are encouraged to bring a snack and beverage.
