This week we are featuring Malvern’s Chief of Police, Lou Marcelli.

Lou Marcelli brings more than a quarter century of law enforcement experience to his role as Chief of Police. Lou served as a Patrolman, Patrol Sergeant, and Detective Sergeant with neighboring East Whiteland Township before joining the Malvern Police Department as Chief. In those roles, he has experience as a community liaison as well as in management, budgeting, criminal investigation, Community Policing; D.A.R.E. Hostage Negotiator, Narcotics Officer, Public Relations officer, liaison for Police-Business community, Community related patrol and more. He is a graduate of the Police Academy at Delaware County Community College and holds additional certifications from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Public Agency Training Council and other law enforcement agencies. Lou had worked in Malvern in 1986 for over a year, he understands the unique character of our community. He and his wife have 3 children. He is also very involved with youth sports and coaching baseball. Lou enjoys spending time with his family and many friends.
