GODSPELL is Wowing Audiences at Footlighters Theater in Berwyn!

Come Sing About Love! GODSPELL receives accolades and rave reviews after opening weekend! "Unbelieveable! I'd see this over & over!"

On March 24th, FOOTLIGHTERS THEATER brought to its historic stage the incredible revival production of Stephen Schwartz’s beloved GODSPELL, a masterful retelling of the original sensation, injected with contemporary references and dazzling new arrangements.

The first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden), GODSPELL took the world by storm in 1971. Boasting a score with chart-topping songs such as “Day by Day,” and a book by visionary playwright, John-Michael Tebelak, it was later made into a feature film, toured the country in local theaters and schools for decades and then triumphantly returned to Broadway for its 40th birthday in 2011. GODSPELL is an experience that continues to touch audiences worldwide.

Director, Melody Dougherty, assisted by an enthusiastic and energetic production staff, has brought together an eclectic and talented group of “apostles” (led by Robert Lewis as Jesus and Sean McDermott as Judas) and added a big dash of 21stCentury culture and a stage full of creativity and energy. Add in a rock band led by music director, Rich Lewis, and the stage is set for an evening of music, fun and a timeless message of love and peace that you will be certain to take home with you.
