MALVERN, PA — School is back in session, and Niche.com recently released its list of the best elementary schools here in Pennsylvania for 2019. And the Great Valley School District has cause to be proud.
Kathryn D. Markley Elementary School rounded out the top 20, earning the No. 20 spot on the list.
Charlestown Elementary School was a bit further down on the ranking, as it was the No. 61 best elementary school in PA.

To calculate the rankings, Niche said it looked at data from the U.S. Department of Education as well as state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school ratings and the overall quality of the school district.
The methodology for each category of rankings varied with some factors having a higher weight for certain categories over others.

Nearby, Radnor Township School District's Ithan Elementary earned the top spot, coming in at No. 1.
