Great Valley High School Grad Wins $2K Scholarship From Dunkin'

Alyssa Maldonado, Great Valley High School class of 2019, and others will be honored at Lincoln Financial Field on July 28.

MALVERN, PA — A Great Valley High School graduate was recently named a recipient of a scholarship from Dunkin' and Scholarship America, the coffee and doughnut pros announced.

Dunkin' and its greater Philadelphia-area franchisees, in partnership with Scholarship America, today announced the recipients of its tenth annual Regional Scholarship Program, which helps high school seniors and college students in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Kent and New Castle counties in Delaware pursue a part-time or full-time undergraduate degree at the institution of their choice.

Alyssa Maldonado, GVHS class of 2019, was named one of those recipients.

Maldonado, of Newtown Square, will get a $2,000 scholarship.

Maldonado was chosen as one of 25 students from more than 2,000 applicants.

She plans to attend Temple University in the fall to study health professions

At GVHS, Maldonado played on the Great Valley and Horizon Club field hockey teams. She was also a member of the National Honor Society, National Hispanic Honor Society, Model UN, Multicultural Student Union, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, she is a recipient of the Congressional Bronze Medal Award, Presidential Volunteer Service Award, and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation Youth Gold Award in Healthcare and Science.

Maldonado and other recipients will be honored at an awards ceremony from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 28 at The Touchdown Club at Lincoln Financial Field.
