Largest of SEPTA's Unions Votes To Strike
TWU Local 234 represents bus drivers and trolley and subway operators.

A union representing SEPTA’s bus drivers, along with other transit workers, voted Sunday to strike.
The strike could happen this year or in early 2015, The Philadelphia Inquirer said.
The main disagreement is over pension funding, the Inquirer said.

In a statement issued before union members went in to vote, the Transport Workers Union Local 234 said that “SEPTA [was] daring Local 234 members to strike.”
TWU Local 234 represents more than 5,000 SEPTA bus drivers, subway and trolley operators and other transit workers, the union said. The Inquirer said it is the largest of SEPTA’s 17 unions.
