Local Freemason Receives Daniel Carter Beard Award

Thomson Lodge No. 340 in Paoli, PA awarded local Freemason Brother Ed Trevisani with the Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Scouter Award on May 1, 2018.

The Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Scouter Award is an honor due to the countless Freemasons who practice the ideals of Freemasonry and act as role models to the young men who are part of one of our nation’s most outstanding youth organizations. Daniel Carter "Uncle Dan" Beard was an American illustrator, author, youth leader, and social reformer who founded the Sons of Daniel Boone in 1905, which Beard later merged with the Boy Scouts of America. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Carter_Beard

Brother Ed Trevisani was recommended for this award for his outstanding leadership and involvement in Scouting. His resume is quite extensive he has been a member of Scouting since 1955, attained Eagle Scout in 1965, Trevisani was a Scoutmaster in Charlottesville, VA in the 1970’s. He was an International Cub Scout Den Leader, Bear and Webelos in Moscow, Russia from 2007-2009 as well as being a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association. Most recently he is involved with Troop 1 in Paoli PA, one of the oldest Troops in America originating in 1911. Thomson Lodge No. 340 along with 10 Masonic Lodges from District 5 Chester County Freemasons attended an open ceremony at Brandywine Goddard Lodge No.383 in Coatesville, PA. Bro. Craig W. Shaffer District Deputy Grand Master of District 5 PA Masons, awarded Bro. Ed Trevisani this prestigious Scout Award. In attendance were 7 other recipients of the Daniel Carter Beard Award. Congratulations Brother Ed.
