Malvern Actor Ben Dibble Steps Behind The DJ Booth in “Saturday Night Fever The Musical”
Malvern actor Ben Dibble is bringing back the 70s era as DJ Monty in Walnut Street Theatre's production of "Saturday Night Fever."

Malvern-based actor Ben Dibble is taking the stage at Walnut Street Theatre equipped with 70s style in Saturday Night Fever The Musical. This exciting stage adaptation of the 1977 film that helped define a generation runs now through July 16th.
Set in 1970s Brooklyn, the musical follows the story of Tony Manero, a young man with a dead-end job and only one ambition in life: to be the disco king. When he meets Stephanie, who also dreams of success beyond Brooklyn, the two decide to train for a dance competition that begins to change their lives forever.

Ben Dibble plays Monty, a DJ at the 2001 Odyssey, the infamous and flashy Brooklyn disco club where Tony Manero and his friends go to dance in several highlight scenes throughout the musical. No stranger to the stage, Dibble has previously been seen in Walnut productions including Harvey, High Society, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and The Producers.

For his role of Monty in Saturday Night Fever, the Barrymore Award-winning actor dons a look reminiscent of Bee Gees frontman Barry Gibb, with long hair, sunglasses, a low-cut shirt, and bell-bottoms. It only seems fitting, since the musical features the same electrifying hits from the Bee Gees’ original soundtrack for the movie, including “Stayin’ Alive,” “Night Fever,” “Jive Talking,” “You Should Be Dancing,” and “How Deep Is Your Love?”
