Malvern Bank Robber Arrested: DA
The suspected robber left a rehab clinic and came straight for the bank, demanding "all the money" and claiming he was armed, the DA said.

MALVERN, PA -- A Philadelphia man has been arrested for robbing the Malvern Federal Savings Bank on Monday afternoon, immediately after leaving a drug and alcohol rehab center. Jamal Goodwin, 25, of South Carroll Street, has been charged with two counts of robbery, theft by unlawful taking, and related counts.
Goodwin allegedly left the Malvern Institute, a rehab center, on Monday morning, and took the SEPTA to Malvern station. A cab picked him and dropped him off at the bank at around 12:35 p.m., according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Inside, Goodwin handed a demand note to the teller. The note claimed that he had a firearm and demanded "all the money," authorities said. "Don't make a scene and no one will get hurt," the note allegedly read.

The teller handed $5,100 in cash to Goodwin who promptly fled the scene in a taxi cab that was waiting outside, police said. The cab dropped him off at A Street and Allegheny Avenue in Philadelphia.
Goodwin got out there, but left his bags inside the car, which contained all of the cash and his driver's license. Meanwhile, authorities had tracked the cab and called the driver, who drove back to bank. Police deduced Goodwin's identity from the bags in the cab, and he was quickly arrested.
