Malvern Cross Country 5k To Support Medically Discharged Marine

An upcoming 5k run for freedom will support a medically discharged Marine with PTSD.

MALVERN, PA -- A 5K Run for Freedom will be held at the Malvern Memorial Grounds on Monument Ave in Malvern on Saturday, June 4.

The event will raise money and raise support for local veterans.

All proceeds from the Run for Freedom are supporting a medically discharged Marine, who has suffered multiple injuries and has been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), event organizers said.

The 5K is a challenging, all-terrain, cross country inspired race that is run through wooded trails and grassy areas on and around the Malvern Memorial Grounds.

The event will begin at 9 a.m.

The Run for Freedom also features a 1 Mile Run/Walk which will begin at 9 a.m. and a Kids’ fun run (9:45 AM).

Prizes in the 5k will be awarded to the Overall Male and Female, Top Military and Top Veteran and the following age group winners: 12 and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
