Malvern Offers Guidance For Residents, Businesses In Green Phase

See some tips on how businesses and residents can keep themselves and others safe as the Malvern area enters the "green" phase.

MALVERN BOROUGH, PA — Officials in Malvern Borough have provided healthy safety guidelines for residents and businesses as the area enters the "green" phase of Gov. Tom Wolf's plan to reopen the state.

Below are measures residents can taken to keep themselves and those around them safe and healthy as the pandemic continues:

  • Social distance when you can, wear a mask when you can’t.
  • Continue cleaning surfaces frequently.
  • Handwashing is still important.
  • Do not touch your face if possible.
  • Limit gatherings or attending gatherings of no more than 250 people.
  • When using public facilities, wear a mask and make sure you wash your hands before and after.
  • Parks will be open, but social distancing restrictions are still in place.

Regarding businesses, the follow guidelines for operations were issued:

  • Telework, when feasible, is still strongly encouraged.
  • Businesses with in person operations must follow updated business and building safety requirements.
  • All business that were allowed to operate during the yellow phase at 50% occupancy can increase to 75 percent occupancy.
  • Schools are allowed to open, but are subject to CDC and Commonwealth Guidelines.
  • Restaurants and bars open at 50 percent occupancy.
  • Personal Care Services, such as hair salons, barbershops, and nail salons, can open at 50 percent occupancy and by appointment only.
  • Indoor recreation, health and wellness facilities, and personal training services can open at 50 percent occupancy with appointments strongly encouraged.
  • Construction activity may return to full capacity with implementations of protocols.'
  • Employers should be monitoring their workforce for indicative symptoms and develop contact tracing procedures following an employee COVID positive test.
