Malvern Police Warn Of IRS Scam
Suspicious callers are obtaining confidential information from Malvern residents by impersonating government officials.

MALVERN, PA - Malvern police are warning residents to be wary of an “IRS scam” spreading across the borough and nearby municipalities.
Residents and business owners have reported receiving a phone call from a caller who claims to be with the IRS, notifying them they owe back taxes.
Once the victim engages in conversation with the caller, information is given in an attempt “to clear up the confusion.”

Police remind residents to please not give any personal information to anyone on the phone.
The IRS will not, under any circumstances, call you if a tax problem exist. The IRS will do all communication through the United States Postal Service only.
