Malvern Prep Grad, Drexel Student, Found Dead In Philly: Report

Tragedy struck after the young man got home from watching Villanova's victory over Oklahoma on Saturday night.

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- A Malvern Prep graduate and Drexel student was found dead in Northern Liberties Sunday morning of an apparent accidental drug overdose, according to reports.

Mike McGinley, 22, a star swimmer and water polo player at Malvern Prep, had been out watching Villanova's victory over Oklahoma on Saturday night, NBC 10 reports.

McGinley allegedly slept over at a friend's house Saturday night after watching the game, and when some friends went out for breakfast on Sunday, he was still sleeping, the report states.

But when they returned, he had stopped breathing.

McGinley was described as a fearsome water polo player by his high school coach, and he holds the all time record for water polo steals in Malvern Prep history, the report states.
