Malvern Prep Kickers Raise Money for Cancer Research One Point at a Time

The kickers on the Friar Football team have been raising money throughout the season to help find a cure for childhood cancer. So far, they have raised more than $1,400 to fight the disease.

For each extra point or field goal made, Malvern Prep kickers Brandon Chiazza of Malvern, Sebastian Costantini of Collegeville, Ryan Dillon of Phoenixville and Garrett Reilly of West Chester have raised money from pledges from generous donors through the "Kick-it" program.

"I know that childhood cancer has touched our Malvern Prep community and families have lost loved ones because of the terrible disease," says Chiazza, who first learned of the program at kicking camps and showcases this summer. "I thought this was a great way to give back to the Malvern community and help people across this country by building awareness for childhood cancer and raise money for research."

The kicking squad has already surpassed their goal of $1,000 for the initiative, which ends on November 30. The Friars have one game remaining this season, a home contest against the Avalon School from Gaithersburg, Md., at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22.
