A Malvern resident and University of Pennsylvania graduating senior was the man behind the planning of the school’s annual Spring Fling this April, according to Penn Current.

Jason Fernandes, the 2014-15 president of the executive board of the Social Planning & Events Committee, was responsible for organizing a variety of social and cultural activities across the campus, including the University’s biggest celebration, Penn Current said.

Over 8,000 people attended Spring Fling, which was highlighted by a concert including Kesha and DJ Kygo, according to the Unviersity.

“In order to compensate for the added stress, I become more relaxed and have to think very clearly,” Fernandes told Penn Current. “I do really enjoy that in-the-moment event planner role.”

His primary duties are coordinating production of events, overseeing ticket sales, and monitoring finacials of events, among other things, the report states.
