What business are you in?

"I own a small personal training business focusing on women, but especially pre-natal women, and women who are postpartum through menopause. As women, our bodies go through many stages and it is my passion to help women to have a healthy and fit relationship with their bodies, regaining their vitality revealing a stronger healthier self."

How did you come up with the name?

“Kat” is my nickname and Fit is short for Fitness. When I started my business three years ago in Massachusetts, my clients almost all told me that I was not their first trainer; however, they all said I have a unique way of training them. All saw and felt changes quickly and have had long-lasting results. In a way, clients were becoming “KatFit”.

Why start a business in this town?

"I grew up in Chester County (Glen Moore). Chester County is my home. When my husband and I decided we were going to make the BIG move from MA to PA, we spent a great deal of time researching towns and schools. We fell in love with Malvern, met some great people, and have enjoyed discovering everything the community and schools have to offer."

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

"Balancing family and business is my most difficult challenge. I am a mom of two young boys (5 & 2), a wife, and a business owner. I am a one-woman show in the business. Providing premium services to my clients is my priority to ensure lasting results. There is a lot of work and studying that goes on off the gym floor, and finding the time to dedicate to my business while also prioritizing being “Mom” is a constant tug-of-war."

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?

"Receiving gratitude from my clients when the results they see changes their lives."

How does your business give back to the community?

"Giving back and supporting the community means a lot to me and as a business owner, I feel supporting the local community is part of my responsibility. Since opening my business in Malvern, I have donated to Great Valley High School Football Auction and am working with The Plaid Pajama Project."
