Malvern Students And Families Help 150 Children In Need

Local students are doing some great work outside of the classroom.

For several years now, Villa families have been sponsoring children through the Delaware Valley Children’s Charity’s Holiday Program which matches sponsors with children in need. As sponsors, families commit to providing for their assigned child for the holidays. The suggested items such as warm clothing, toys and food for the child help to provide comfort and delight during the winter season. Villa was privileged to sponsor over 150 children this year for our Villa Angel Program!

“This is one of my favorite things we do here at Villa,” said Jennifer Nehr, a Villa mom and coordinator of the Villa Angel program. “Our families are so generous!”

Villa is also blessed to have two of our seventh graders as Youth Ambassadors for the Delaware Valley Children’s Charity, Alexandra Trebelev and Norah Crowley (pictured here along with other student volunteers who helped collect the gifts on drop-off day). This act of service is a wonderful example of kids helping kids and an important part of the school’s mission.

Villa Maria Academy’s mission is to prepare girls to become Christian women assuming leadership and services roles within the family, the local and global community as well as their parish and the universal Church.
