Malvern Students Nominated By Congressman To Service Academies

Congratulations, students.

WEST CHESTER, PA – More than 32 students in Pennsylvania’s Sixth Congressional District have been nominated to one of the nation’s most prestigious service academies, U.S. Congressman Ryan Costello (PA-06) announced on Tuesday.

In an effort to assist in the nomination process, Costello appointed community members with a military background to a nonpartisan Academy Advisory Board, he stated in a press release. The Academy Advisory Board selects nominees based on academic achievements, leadership skills, extracurricular activities, physical fitness, and character.

“I applaud these fine students on their motivation to serve our nation and their interest in wearing the uniform at one of our nation’s military academies,” Costello said in a statement. “These students have demonstrated tremendous leadership in their communities and schools and I have no doubt that they will excel at the highest level. It is a high privilege to offer these nominations and I thank these young men and women for their willingness to serve our nation.”

Costello’s nomination does not guarantee admission to a service academy, as the final admittance remains up to the academies’ admissions boards.

The following students are Congressman Costello’s 2016 Service Academy Nominees. Students in bold have already been accepted to their respective academies as of January 19:
