Man Gets Prison Time for Stealing Comcast Service

A Philadelphia man has been sentenced to prison for stealing $2.4 million worth of Comcast service.

But the service wasn’t just for him — all told, the scam involved some 5,795 people in the region, The Bucks County Courier Times reported.

Alston Buchanan liked to refer to himself as the Robin Hood of cable, the Courier Times said.

He was sentenced Friday in Norristown to three to six years in prison.

The scam cost Comcast some $2.4 million, the Courier Times said. Buchanan personally may have made up to $600,000 on the scheme.
