The Mayor of "Oz" from Malvern

Malvern actor Jacob Wilner to perform in Walnut Street Theatre's production of "The Wizard Of Oz"

This holiday season, young talent from Malvern will take the stage at Philadelphia’s most popular theatre company. Walnut Street Theatre’s production of the all-time classic musical, The Wizard Of Oz, celebrated its opening last week and continues through January 8th.

Ready to welcome you to Munchkinland, Actor Jacob Wilner, a 6th grader at Great Valley Middle School, plays the Munchkin Mayor in the production. This season marks Wilner’s third year of performing at Walnut Street Theatre.

Wilner is scheduled to appear in all weekday performances of the production. The same role will be played by Actor Lyam David-Kilker on weekends.

Wilner, along with his 29 Munchkin cast-mates, are all members of The Theatre School at Walnut Street Theatre.

On stage, The Wizard Of Oz features all of the Oscar-winning songs from the movie including "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "We're Off To See The Wizard," all the favorite characters and iconic moments, plus a few surprises along the way.
