Montco Man Pleads Guilty to Malvern Murder, Gets 20 to 40 Year Sentence

A 25-year-old Montgomery County man faces 20-40 years in state prison after pleading guilty last week to the Nov. 15, 2013 shooting and killing of a friend he grew up living next door to in Malvern, according to Philly.com.

Merrit Neil Dudas admitted to Chester County Court of Common Pleas Judge Anne Marie Wheatcraft that he shot 21-year-old Drew Ferguson in the head with a handgun and hid the body in the garage of his home in Malvern, the report says.

According to the article, Dudas and Ferguson were next door neighbors for many years and attended Great Valley High School together. Police do not know the cause for the shooting, and Dudas did not provide any explanations during his sentencing hearing.
