No Tax Hike In Proposed Malvern Borough Budget

Should the proposed 2020 budget be adopted in its current form, borough residents won't see an increase in their property taxes.

MALVERN, PA — Malvern Borough officials recently unveiled the proposed budget for 2020.

And property owners have cause to be happy: there is no real estate tax increase in the budget.

The 2020 proposed budget keeps the existing 4.67 millage rate.

With that rate, a property with the average assessed value of $205,000 would pay $957.35 in real estate taxes.

The 2020 budget includes $11,496,874 in revenue and in 8,680,395 expenditures.

You can review the full budget proposal online here. The budget will also be on display for public review from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. through Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Malvern Borough Hall, 1 E. First Ave., Suite 3. A copy will also be made available at the Malvern Public Library during their normal operating hours.

The Borough Council will hold a public hearing and consider adopting the preliminary budget at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Malvern Borough Hall

Then, the council will consider the final adoption of the budget at the Dec. 17 meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Malvern Borough Hall.
