Pig Roast Benefit For Malvern Fire Co Canceled After Complaints

Officials put the kibosh on fire company's annual pig roast benefits following anonymous complaints and threats of protest.

MALVERN, PA – The annual Malvern Fire Company Pig Roast benefit has been canceled after the fire company got calls of complaints and threats of protest.

The fundraiser was to be held Aug. 4 but officials but the kibosh on the event due to the complaints.

Philly.com reports it's unclear who made the complaints.

Despite the cancelation, fire officials are looking to alternatives.

Deputy Chief Jim Rapp said on Facebook that officials are meeting Wednesday to talk about hosting a movie with food trucks in Paoli in the coming months to serve as a fundraiser.

He said the fire company will update the public on what will come of the meeting.

Rapp also thanked those who are continuing to support the fire company.
