Route 202 Widening Project Continues In East Whiteland

The Route 202 widening project is continuing to make slow but steady progress in East Whiteland Township.

PennDOT officials give August 2016 has a goal completion date.

Until then, motorists should expect regular shifts in traffic patterns in both directions, especially overnight.

Lane closures in both directions will occur frequently between the interchanges at Route 30 and Route 401.

Most of 2015 will be spent improving the northbound side, however, officials said.

In 2016, the project will remove and reconstruct the median and the shoulder pavement, install a 50-inch high glare screen on the median, install storm drainage components, and build new signs that comply with with Intelligent Transportation System guidelines.
