Routes 202, 29 Affected By Work This Week: PennDOT

Work will affect areas of East Whiteland, West Whiteland, and Charlestown townships, according to PennDOT. See details on the work here.

PennDOT said two roads in the area will be affected by work this week, impacting nighttime and daytime travel in East Whiteland, West Whiteland, and Charlestown townships.

According to PennDOT, U.S. Route 202 north will be reduced to a single lane and two ramps at the U.S. 202 and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass Interchange will be closed at night next week in East and West Whiteland.

  • Monday, March 5, through Friday, March 9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, and until 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, northbound U.S. 202 will be reduced from two-lanes-to-one between the Boot Road and Route 401 interchanges;
  • Tuesday, March 6, through Friday, March 9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, and until 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, the ramp from northbound U.S. 202 to Business U.S. 30 will be closed. Motorists normally using the ramp will be directed to use northbound U.S. 202 to the Route 401 Interchange, then turn right on Route 401/Conestoga Road to reach Business U.S. 30; and
  • Tuesday, March 6, through Friday, March 9, from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. the following morning, and until 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, the ramp from eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 will be closed. Motorists will be directed to use the Business U.S. 30 exit, turn right on eastbound Business U.S. 30, and right onto the ramp to northbound U.S. 202.

Crews will be working on overhead bridge construction, PennDOT said.

Eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass and northbound U.S. 202 motorists should expect delays and slow moving traffic when approaching the work area. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Additionally, daytime lane restrictions are scheduled on southbound Route 29/Morehall Road between Flat Road/Atwater Drive and Yellow Springs Road in East Whiteland and Charlestown townships, PennDOT said.

The restrictions will be in place Tuesday, March 6, and Wednesday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for line striping and temporary barrier placement, PennDOT said.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through this work zone because slowdowns will occur during construction.

The contractor's schedule is weather dependent.
