Stoga Pioneers Pink Out - A Successful Event!
Thank you for supporting the Pioneers Pink Out to raise attention and funds for breast cancer research & the Eileen Stein Jacoby Fund!
The Stoga Pioneers Pink Out event held to benefit the Eileen Stein Jacoby Fund for breast cancer research, was a big success! The stands at Teamer Field were filled Friday night with Stoga family, friends and fans wearing everything from pink socks to pink hair and waving their Pink Out rally towels. Throughout the evening the Freshmen boys' team walked through Teamer's bleachers with their Pink Out buckets, collecting nearly $900 in donations, all of which goes to breast cancer research. Thank you to our community for your generous support and in helping the Stoga Pioneers football team promote breast cancer awareness and research.
On the field the Pioneers, facing off against Radnor High School, had their 4th straight game with over 100 yards rushing. The defense held Radnor under 200 yards in total offense. Wide receiver Peyton Jones started the 4th quarter with an incredible interception, leading to a 75-yard touchdown run that had Pioneer fans jumping out of their seats. The Stoga senior's TD would have brought the Pioneers within three points of Radnor, but was called by what the officials deemed to be a block in the back. The game did not end with the win that Pioneers had played so hard for, but they will be back on Teamer Field this coming Friday night, Senior Night for the Pioneers, as they play Ridley High School at 7:00pm on Teamer Field.
