Take Me Out To The Ballgame!
Local Students and their Host Families Take Over Star Wars Night at Citizens Bank Park
June 21, 2017-What's more American than a day at the ballpark? This past Wednesday, local families who are hosting international au pairs, came from all over the Philadelphia area and suburbs to spend the day cheering on the Phillies. They were able to share with their au pairs an important part of American culture.
Representing over 25 different countries, hundreds of au pairs and host families, along with their local coordinators, gathered at the ballpark for Star Wars Night, using the force to benefit Stand Up to Cancer. The Philly Phanatic, hot dogs, cotton candy and singing along to "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" were the highlights. This was a special moment for host children to share and an experience they will never forget!
Au pairs are caring and committed, adventurous and educated young people, ages 18-26 years, from many different countries worldwide. They are eager to experience American culture while sharing their own unique backgrounds with their host families. They receive free room and board and a weekly stipend in exchange for providing the family with high-quality, live-in childcare.
