Tredyffrin Cops Tried To Stop Car That Crashed, Killing Driver
The fatal East Whiteland crash happened after the vehicle refused to stop for Tredyffrin Township Police on Route 30 Saturday.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA – The fatal crash that occurred Saturday in East Whiteland was the result of a Tredyffrin Township Police pursuit that began in a neighboring municipality.
East Whiteland Police said Andrew Sanchez, 27, of Lancaster, died after the Saturday morning crash.
At about 10:43 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, a Tredyffrin Township Police Officer was attempting to stop a vehicle on Route 30 westbound in Paoli after clocking its speed at 45 miles per hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone, according to Tredyffrin and East Whiteland police

The vehicle refused to pull over and sped off, police said.
Eventually Sanchez lost control of the black Hyundai he was driving, police said.

He then hit the side of a bridge forcing the Hyundai to cross into the opposite traffic lanes and go off the road, police said.
The vehicle struck a Holiday Inn Express sign, causing it to flip over and come to rest in a ditch, according to police.
Sanchez was rushed to Paoli Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
Tredyffrin Police said they found no warrants or any other legal reason why Sanchez fled the stop.
Local and county authorities are working to learn more about the crash and why Sanchez drove off.
