Volunteers Needed For 3 East Whiteland Boards, Commissions

Interested and qualified East Whiteland residents are encouraged to apply for seats on three township boards and commissions.

EAST WHITELAND, PA — Residents of East Whiteland Township who are qualified and interested are asked to apply for vacant seats on various township boards and commissions.

Openings on the following two Boards if interested apply by Dec. 31:

Historical Commission (one seat open) — Meets each month on the third Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The Historical Commission has been instrumental in identifying historic properties and in spearheading efforts to protect the Township’s historic resources. Parks & Recreation Board (two seats open) — Meets each month on the fourth Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Parks & Recreation Board is a volunteer organization operating in one of the fastest growing counties and townships in the state. Goals include open space acquisition, improving existing parks and creating new ones, recreational programming, trail development, as well as partnerships as stewards of the township.

Pension Board of Trustees (one seat open) — Meets quarterly, Feb. 19 at 4:30 p.m.

Manage and administrator the Township's Firefighter Employee's Pension Funds and OPEB Trust Fund.
