MALVERN, PA — Volunteers are needed on various Malvern Borough boards and committees according to officials.

The borough's Planning Commission and Historical Commission each have one vacant seat that needs to be filled.

The Planning Commission vacancy is for an alternate member and the position carries a four-year term. As an alternate member to the Planning Commission, this individual appointed will be permitted to participate in all meetings and discussion, but would not vote unless designated to do so by the chair. This would include instances where a member is either absent, has recused themselves from a topic of discussion, or is disqualified by the governing body.

For the Historical Commission, the position carries a five-year term. The individual appointed will complete a term that expires on Jan. 1, 2021. Additional information on the functions of this commission are available on the borough website.
