Worth Waking Up For? McDonald's Offering Free Coffee

Maybe this will take the edge off our recent crisp mornings -- McDonald’s is offering free coffee in the mornings starting Tuesday.

During breakfast hours, every customer can get a free small McCafe, the company says. The promotion runs through Sept. 29.

“We know our guests are busy, especially during the morning, and a free cup of coffee goes a long way in helping get their days started,” said Greg Watson, senior vice president, McDonald’s US Menu Innovation.

This is the fast-food company’s second free coffee event -- during the first, in March, it gave away “millions of cups of free coffee.”
