$1.1M Water Main Replacement Project Underway In Marple

Aqua Pennsylvania is working to replace 4,656 feet of aging 6- and 8-inch water mains on two Marple Township roads.

MARPLE, PA — A $1.1 million water main replacement project is now underway on two roads in Marple Township.

Aqua Pennsylvania announced work being done in Marple is part of $5.8 million in infrastructure improvement projects are underway or have recently been completed in Delaware County.

In Marple Township, crews recently began working to replace 4,656 feet of aging 6- and 8-inch water mains with new 6- and 8-inch ductile iron water mains.

Crews are working on Paxon Hollow Road between Jamestown Road and west of Worthington Drive, and on Pine Tree Drive between both ends of Paxon Hollow Road

Aqua’s work is expected to be completed by March, weather permitting. Final road restoration is expected to be completed in the summer of this year, pending township coordination.

This project is part of Aqua’s continuing infrastructure improvement program.

The new water mains will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and improve water flow in the area.
