3 Marple Police Officers Get Promotions

Congratulations to Lieutenant Nick Coffin, Sergeant Andrew Ronsvalle, and Detective Patrick Sexton on their promotions.

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — Three members of the Marple Township Police Department were recently promoted at the department's headquarters.

Promoted were Lieutenant Nick Coffin, Sergeant Andrew Ronsvalle, and Detective Patrick Sexton.

The three were joined by family and colleagues for their oaths of office.

"We could not be prouder of these officers and their accomplishments and are excited to see them continue to serve our great community in their new capacities," the department said in announcing the promotions. "A huge thank you to the residents and businesses of Marple Township and our Board of Commissioners for their continued, unwavering support!"

Lieutenant Nick Coffin has been with the Marple Township Police Department for 13 years. He earned a BA from Widener University and a Master's in Public Safety Management from St. Joseph's University. A graduate of Northwestern University School of Police & Staff Command Class #517, Nick has previously held the rank of both Detective and Sergeant. For the past 18 months he has been Acting Lieutenant of Operations for the department, overseeing patrol, detectives, and training. He will continue to carry out those duties and responsibilities, plus many more.

Sergeant Andrew Ronsvalle has been with the Marple Township Police Department for 20 years. A native of Rochester, New York, he earned an Associate's degree from Monroe Community College and a BA from SUNY Brockport. A detective since 2019, Andrew was named Acting Sergeant in 2023 and, in addition to his regular investigative responsibilities, assigned to oversee the detective division. He will remain in his current assignment.

Detective Patrick Sexton has been with the Marple Township Police Department since 2019. After serving honorably as an infantry team leader in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division, based primarily out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, he attended West Chester University where he earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree. Pat is an active member of the Central Delco Tactical Response Team (aka SWAT).
