$40K Awarded To Three Newtown Square Public Service Organizations

State Rep. Lisa Borowski, D-168, announced funding for the Newtown Square Fire Company, Library, and Business Association.

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — Three public service organizations in Newtown Square have been awarded a total of $40,000 in state grant funding.

State Rep. Lisa Borowski, D-168, announced the funding Friday.

Grant awardees are the Newtown Square Fire Company, Newtown Square Library, and Newtown Square Business Association.

Borowski secured the funding from a grant program administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development as one of her first acts as the region’s state representative.

"Each of these organizations will use this funding to enhance their offerings to the public," Borowski said. "These organizations are impacting and engaging with the communities they serve on so many levels, and this funding will support those efforts."

The fire company got $20,000 to implement enhancements to its prevention and education programs.

The library got $12,000 to make facility enhancements, including the addition of a community meeting room for public use.

And $8,000 was awarded to the Newtown Square Business Association to implement business district enhancements.
