Marple, Newtown Primary Election Voter Guides: Who's Running, Where To Vote

Primaries will include races for governor, Congress, state representative and more. Here's what to know before Election Day.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Pennsylvanians will cast their votes for governor, Congress and state representatives during the May 19 primary election.

Here's what Marple and Newtown residents should know ahead of Election Day.

When To Vote

Polls will be open for in-person voting from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19.

Delaware County also has several secure drop boxes where you can submit your mail-in or absentee ballot. Some are open 24/7 while others have select hours. But all drop boxes will close at 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Who's On The Ballot

Most of the primaries are uncontested. But there are some exceptions, including the Republican race for lieutenant governor and the Democratic primary for State House of Representatives in District 166, which includes part of Marple Township.

Here are the candidates in races that both Marple and Newtown residents will vote on:

Governor (Democratic Party, vote for one)

Lt. Governor (Dem., vote for one)

Lt. Governor (Rep., vote for one)

U.S. House of Representatives, Pennsylvania's 5th Congressional District (Dem., vote for one)

Pennsylvania State Senator, 26th District (Dem., vote for one)

Marple and Newtown residents will have different races in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives elections. Newtown is in House District 168, while Marple is split between Districts 165 and 166:

FOR ALL NEWTOWN RESIDENTS:

Pennsylvania House of Representatives, 168th District (Dem., vote for one)

Pennsylvania House of Representatives, 168th District (Rep., vote for one)

FOR MARPLE RESIDENTS IN HOUSE DISTRICT 165:
