UPPER DARBY, PA — After 70 years in Upper Darby, one of Delaware County's best-known pizzerias has closed up shop as the business prepares to relocate to Broomall.
In 1941, Frank Pica, Sr. opened a brick-oven pizzeria in West Philadelphia with just a few tables and a takeout counter. Fifteen years later, Pica's Restaurant moved to a larger space in Upper Darby.

The business's last day in Upper Darby was Sunday.
Now, Pica's is relocating to Broomall. The business said on social media that they'll announce the opening date soon.
Pica's is moving to a multi-use business complex in Broomall — at 1101 Sussex Blvd., Suite 10.
In February, Pica's announced that construction in Broomall was well-underway. So the pizzeria isn't starting from scratch.
Meanwhile, if you're craving square pizza or anything else from Pica's, their other location in West Chester remains open.
