Man Made Threats Toward School, Church In Delco: Police

BROOMALL, PA — A man was arrested Tuesday after threatening to send "non-believers" to hell in a social media post directed toward a Broomall religious institution with a school, police said.

The post was directed toward St. Pius X — a church that contains a Catholic school — according to Marple Township Police.

There is currently no threat to the public, but police will have a continued presence at St. Pius through the end of the school day, authorities said.

The suspect — Christopher Henderson, 37, of Exton — was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with terroristic threats, a third-degree felony.

Henderson has family in Broomall, but it's unclear whether he's ever been connected to St. Pius, said Marple Township Police Chief Brandon M. Graeff.

His post didn't name any specific person or group, only referring to an unspecified "you" several times, Graeff told Patch. But in one sentence, Henderson mentions "a bunch of f****t non-believers."

"What alarmed us the most was the part when he said 'I'm sending all you b****es to hell,'" Graeff said.

Henderson failed to post bail Tuesday after his conditions were set at $500,000 payment, a mental-health evaluation and orders to stay out of Marple Township. He is jailed at Delaware County Prison, with a preliminary hearing set for June 25.

Online court records didn't list an attorney contact for Henderson on Tuesday.
