Graduates returned to where their nursing journeys began on Oct. 21, as the Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) Practical Nursing Program welcomed alumni and their families back to campus for an Alumni Fall Fest.

Held at the Marple Education Center at 85 N. Malin Road in Broomall, the family-friendly event gave alumni an opportunity to reconnect with fellow graduates and nursing educators, tour the program's new state-of-the-art facility and catch up on recent program updates. There were activities for all ages, including children's crafts, a slime station, and a timed challenge to see who could put on sterile gloves the fastest.

"It was wonderful to welcome our graduates and their families back to the program and give them a chance to reconnect with their classmates and nursing educators," said Stacy Delaney, MSN-Ed., RN, Practical Nursing Program Supervisor. "We're proud of how far our graduates have come and loved having the opportunity to celebrate them and show them our new facility."

In January 2026, the program moved into the new, upgraded space, featuring two additional classrooms and an expanded simulation lab to support student learning and program growth.

"Events like this wouldn't be possible without the support of our staff, nursing educators and current students who volunteered their time to make the day special," Delaney said. "We're grateful to everyone who helped bring our alumni community together, and we can't wait to continue to host events like this in the future."
