Kehler’s Gymnastics “Excellence” Recognized by County Council

Kehler’s Gymnastics and Kids Fun Factory in Broomall has just received the “Excellence in Youth” award from the Youth Council and Workforce Investment Board of the Delaware County Council, for serving as an “exemplary role model in our community.”  Each year Counsel recognizes several local businesses for their work in the community, donating their time and financial resources to the betterment of young people, as well as for efforts made in hiring, training, and mentoring teens and young adults in the workplace.

Normally employees nominate their employer, when they feel that the employer has gone out of their way to take the time to design a workplace environment which nurtures and supports young people as they learn to handle the responsibilities of the adult world. This year two of Kehler’s Gymnastics managers, Elise McClausland of Broomall and Brittany Strigle of Havertown, jointly nominated  Kehler’s.

Elise, who recently graduated from Neumann College with a degree in Athletic Training, remarked that, “For the past three decades, Kehler’s Gymnastics has been donating time, money, and energy to many communities and international charities, non-profit organizations, schools, and places of worship.  Some of Kehler’s projects include annual donations to charity auctions, supporting Rotary International and Broomall Rotary, as well as the UNICEF trick or treat drive, the Marine Corps Toys for Tots collections for those in need, and fundraising through free play at the Kids Fun Factory.  Kehler’s Gymnastics is dedicated to providing safety and fun for the kids, as well as, creating a positive environment for the staff to grow. “

Brittany, who is in the last year of her studies at West Chester University to become an elementary school teacher, explained that, “Kehler’s Gymnastics supports young employees by offering flexible work schedules, mentoring young people, and guiding teens and young adults in their career paths.  Kehler’s Gymnastics strongly reinforces the importance of leadership, dedication to the community, safety of the environment, and educational experiences.  I had the ability to work with not only children, but also to interact with parents in a positive and responsible manner, which helped me to grow and mature.  I appreciate how much time and effort Kehler’s has given me.  That attention has helped me develop into the person I am. Having responsibility so young has benefited me now that I am a young adult. “

Currently Kehler’s Gymnastics employs about 45 young people who help teach the children in their Summer Day Camps, Gymnastics Classes, Birthday Parties, Dragons All Stars Cheerleading, Tumbling Classes, Kids Fun Factory Indoor Playground, and other activities.
