Bitcoin Scammers Targeting Local Residents: Newtown Township Police

Newtown Township Police said scammers have been targeting area residents with a bitcoin scheme, claiming residents' computers are infected.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Newtown Township are of scammers targeting area residents in an effort to get bitcoin.

According to police, scammers will contact their targets and claim their computers are infected.

The scammers will then find the targets' addresses, and use photos from Google Earth to show their homes, police said.
