Bitcoin Scammers Targeting Local Residents: Newtown Township Police

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Newtown Township are of scammers targeting area residents in an effort to get bitcoin.

According to police, scammers will contact their targets and claim their computers are infected.

The scammers will then find the targets' addresses, and use photos from Google Earth to show their homes, police said.

This is all in an attempt to get the targets to send them bitcoin, according to police.

Police urge residents not to engage with these scammers and not to provide them with any money or information.
