A Novel Idea: Listening Sessions in Newtown
Township officials should consider holding "listening sessions" in Newtown Township.
So, here’s a novel idea for Newtown Township's manager and supervisors: why not consider “listening sessions” like those that have taken place in Radnor.
Here is how they were advertised in Radnor:
Radnor Township Manager Robert Zienkowski will be holding five listening sessions this coming week.
These sessions will allow the Township Manager and members of the Administration an opportunity to meet and hear from residents, businesses, and the educational community about Township Services including Police Protection.
Everyone is invited and welcome to attend. All sessions will be held at the Radnor Township Municipal Building, 301 Iven Avenue, Wayne.
The schedule follows:

Although there is public comment allowed at the various Newtown Township meetings, public comment is specific to topics at the meeting. It is also an opportunity for those who have asked in advance to speak at the meeting as well as the opportunity to speak about those items that have been brought to the township’s attention, but have not been resolved.

The meetings held in Radnor were of varied times, rather than the specific evenings when township meetings take place. For those that cannot attend the public meetings, listening sessions would give those who are not able to attend another opportunity for participation.
