Broomall Rotary's Just for Fun Dog Show is Oct. 2

A fun-filled Dogapolooza (K-9 for "party") is coming to Rotary Field at Veterans Park in Broomall thanks to the Broomall Rotary and Delco SPCA.

The Broomall Rotary Club and Delaware County SPCA are partnering again for another Doggy Show in October. It will feature fun contests such as Best Costume, Dog With the Waggiest Tail, Best Kisser, Frisbee Catch and more.

There will be an Agility Dog competition in which dogs race through obstacle courses. A groomer will clip nails for only $5. Many people come to just let their dogs “hang out with other dogs.” It’s a great day of entertainment and fun for the whole family.

The Delaware County SPCA will have several dogs and cats available for adoption. This is an excellent opportunity for people to see a variety of pets in an open-air setting. Interested adopters can find a cat or dog that will fit right in with their family.

Taking lots of time with a potential pet and getting to know one another is a good idea prior to adoption. All of the pets adopted from the Delaware County SPCA are spayed or neutered, microchipped with a lifetime registration and up-to-date on vaccines. Adoption also includes a complimentary vet visit. For Delaware County residents, each regular-priced dog adoption includes a one-year Delaware County dog license. The Delaware County SPCA offers adoption specials every month.

The Doggy Show will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 1 p.m. The location is the Veterans Memorial Park on Lawrence Road in Broomall. Contest registration begins at 12:30 p.m.

Delco SPCA will host its 5th annual Bark in the Park Dog Walk & Fall Festival on Oct. 8 at Rose Tree Park in Media. Visit the Delco SPCA website at http://www.delcospca.org for more information about this event or to view the adoptable pets, see or learn more about low-cost veterinary services.
