Endorsed Republican Candidate for School Board 4 Year Term Matthew A. DeNucci, IV

Endorsed Republican Candidate for School Board 4 Year Term Matthew A. DeNucci, IV

My name is Matthew A. DeNucci, IV and I am a candidate for the office of School Director in the Marple Newtown School District.  I am seeking election to the School Board for a four-year term.

I have been a resident of Newtown Township for the last sixteen years with my wife, Kristen, and children, Matthew, 2, and Cecilia, 5.  Our house was designed and built by my grandfather, a structural engineer, in the late 1940’s.  And, my father was educated in the Marple Newtown schools, so my ties to Newtown Township and the Marple Newtown School District run deep.

Public service is my life’s calling. After graduating from Widener University School of Law, I was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney in November of 2009.  As an ADA, I serve the citizens of Delaware County by prosecuting individuals who have committed crimes in our jurisdiction.  In the three-and-a-half years I have been with the District Attorney’s Office, I have prosecuted hundreds of offenders and tried fifteen cases to completion before juries.

Prior to attending law school I completed my undergraduate schooling at Neumann University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Computer Science in 2002.  I also completed my graduate studies at Neumann, earning a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership in 2004.  Perhaps more important than the degrees that I left Neumann University with is the understanding I gained there that knowledge is a gift to be shared in the service of others.

In that spirit of service to others, it is my desire to serve as a School Director on the Marple Newtown School Board.  My education, combined with my professional and personal life experiences, give me a unique skill set that will benefit the School Board and ultimately the residents of the district.  If elected, I will strive to continue to improve upon the quality of education, facilities and programs offered to our children in a fiscally responsible manner.

My wife, Kristen, is a special education teacher employed by Upper Darby School District.  I understand the demands that are placed on teachers today.  I have two school-aged children.  I understand what parents need and want for their kids.  I am a home owner and tax payer.  I understand the correlation between quality of education and property value, as well as the correlation between services provided to our students and the costs to residents of the district.  It is my sincere belief that by working together towards a shared vision we can achieve greater things and satisfy all constituents.

The Marple Newtown School District is an incredible place to put down roots, raise a family and, ultimately, to grow old.  As a stakeholder, both as a tax-paying property owner and as a parent of school-aged children, I share your concerns.  It would be my honor and privilege to serve the district as a member of the Marple Newtown School Board and I humbly ask for your support on Election Day.
